EverRail steams into Early Access

Dateline: 7/20/2026

The open-world action survival crafting game EverRail is now in Early Access on Steam and the Epic Games Store.

From Aesir Interactive:

Built alongside months of community playtesting and player feedback, EverRail's Early Access release offers first-person or third-person gameplay, expanded survival systems, new combat options, exploration content and quality-of-life improvements, giving players even more ways to brave the endless winter alone or with up to four players in co-op.

In EverRail, humanity's last refuge is a massive battery-powered train that only generates power while in motion. Players must gather resources, expand their rolling fortress and venture into the frozen wilderness to uncover vital supplies before the cold drains the train's power and the journey grinds to a halt. Every decision carries weight, as the train's battery, passenger manifest and dwindling resources determine whether humanity's final journey continues…or ends forever.

EverRail’s key features include:

The Frontier Expands

Early Access introduces first-person gameplay as the default experience – with third-person gameplay still available – alongside a significantly expanded world filled with new abandoned facilities, train stations and surface encounters. Valuable resources, environmental hazards and increasingly dangerous enemies await those willing to venture farther from the safety of the tracks.

Combat has also received a major update with the introduction of Assault Rifles and Shotguns, alongside additional weapon variants and a comprehensive balance overhaul. Combined with new crafting recipes and progressively tougher enemy encounters, players will find a more rewarding sense of progression from their first expedition to the late game.

Survival Demands More

EverRail's survival systems have been updated for Early Access, introducing hunger, stamina and cold mechanics that challenge players to carefully prepare for every expedition beyond the safety of the train.

Passengers now rely entirely on shared ration supplies, making food production and resource management more important than ever. New consumables, recipes and exosuit upgrades give players additional ways to survive the harsh conditions while balancing exploration, combat and keeping humanity’s last refuge moving.

Build a Better Train

Players now have greater freedom to customize humanity's last moving fortress with new crafting stations, storage buildings and train modules.

New additions include a dedicated Glider Fabricator, a Salvager building that recycles unwanted equipment into valuable resources, specialized storage buildings for materials and food, and new construction pieces, including floor plates, lifts and stairs that allow players to build vertically inside their train for the first time.

Built with the Community

EverRail’s Early Access launch reflects months of community playtesting across multiple public demos, incorporating player-requested improvements to combat, exploration, progression and quality-of-life systems, laying the foundation for EverRail's ongoing development.

"Early Access marks the beginning of the next chapter for EverRail's journey," said Wolfgang Emmer, CEO of Aesir Interactive. “Our community has helped shape the game into what it is today, and we're excited to keep building EverRail together as players continue exploring the frozen frontier and sharing their feedback."

The line is officially open. Whether players keep it moving is another story.
