Today, Skybound Entertainment’s first in-house game development studio, Quarter Up, gave fans a closer look at Universa, one of the first DLC characters coming to Invincible VS, the 3v3 tag fighter. Joining the roster on June 30, Universa enters the stacked lineup of fan-favorite fighters, such as Mark Grayson (Invincible), Omni-Man, Atom Eve, Rex Splode, Cecil Stedman, Robot, Monster Girl, Allen the Alien, Dupli-Kate, Ella Mental and many more.
As The Chosen of her people, Universa will stop at nothing to save her dying world. She comes to Earth with the sole purpose of stealing the planet’s energy resources to sustain her own, wielding the Staff of Leadership to do so. With this powerful weapon, Universa can both absorb and unleash massive bursts of energy, making her a lethal force as she takes what she wants and leaves foes in her wake.
In Invincible VS, Universa is a balanced, technical fighter whose power grows increasingly dangerous as her Boost Meter rises. Her siphon ability allows her to drain Boost energy from opponents, leaving them more vulnerable to her attacks. One of the most formidable fighters on the roster, Universa boasts unique combos and devastating boosted Specials that let her take down opponents in satisfying fashion.
Fans will have the chance to go hands-on with Universa at the Invincible VS booth during Evo in Las Vegas, NV, from June 26-28, ahead of her official launch on June 30. As an official tournament partner, the best-of-the-best Invincible VS players will duke it out on the Evo main stage throughout the weekend, with the sole winner crowned on Sunday, June 28, and taking home a life-sized Conquest Gauntlet trophy.
